MY REVIEW: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book begins fast, and the action keeps you on your toes throughout the entire book. I loved that about it. It is a great international thriller, along the lines of Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code. This isn't centralized on the Catholic Church, but on Eden. It has the same feel as The DaVinci Code, trying to get ahead of the plagues that were visited upon Egypt by God and His messenger Moses.
There was something I really didn't like about it, which would have explained a bunch of the confusion I experienced. You see, the book starts out with the third plague. In fact, it kind of drops you in the middle of something, and without knowing that it is part of a series, I found myself asking myself, "Is this is second book of a series?" When actually, its the fourth of a series. Since I *just* found that out, that explains a bunch of the confusion that I felt. The blurb I was given didn't make it sound like a part of a series. Perhaps I would have shied away from the book if I had known. On one hand, I'm glad I didn't know, on the other, it has changed the way I enjoyed the book tremendously. I think changing the cover just slightly to put a line stating that it is book 4 of the Eden Series, would be awesome.
Because it was the fourth in a series, there wasn't much character development, so I didn't feel anything towards the characters. Yani and Jaime....didn't feel anything towards them.
