#REVIEW: First K.I.S.S. by VA Dold

What do you do when your past comes creeping back?

Carol Duffy is facing the next chapter in her life. She alternates between excitement and
fear as she drives toward her fresh start with a new job in a new state. She’s washed her cheating
ex-fiancé out of her hair, and the last thing Carol wants is another man in her life. Now if she
could just get her dog back.
Moving from the only home she’s known is terrifying enough. It’s a good thing she didn’t
know how deadly it could be or she would never have gotten into her car.
Widower Joe Christian has spent the last ten years raising his children as best he could and
managing the Rocking Double L Ranch for Lucas Le Beau. Relationships and romance are off
his menu.
He had his chance at true love and lost it.
The quiet life at the Rocking Double L is about to become much more exciting. It's just
another day on the Le Beau ranch with a heady combination of a romance that refuses to be
denied, Texas weather that can turn dangerous, and a lethal stalker.
Krystal's Intuitive Soulmate Service. Come to the Le Beau Rocking Double L Ranch, where
Krystal and your spirit guide will match you with your perfect partner today.

My Rating: 4 stars

My Review: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I had read the previous Le Beau series and I loved it. This was an excellent way for the author to introduce a whole new series without alienating her previous series and her readership. However, because I knew of the previous series, and loved it so much, I was hoping for a little more paranormal than is in this book. It will just take a little adjusting. I'm not 100% sure you can read this book without at least a general knowledge of the previous series, as there are enough paranormal hints in it that could potentially throw off a brand-new reader.
That being said, I loved Carol and Christian's story. The author did a great job in helping the reader to empathize with Christian's love for his previous wife. I'm not quite sure ten year olds would agree so readily to the ending with someone they seemed to have hardly met, though maybe the time lapse between the children meeting her and the end just wasn't enough for me. I liked Carol as a character but felt she needed a little bit more of a backbone at times. Christian I loved, he was the perfect mix of rugged cowboy and gentleman.

Her idea of absolute heaven is a day in the French Quarter with her computer, her coffee mug, and the Brothers, of course. Or a night with a sexy cowboy in the hayloft.
A Midwest native with her heart lost to Louisiana & Texas. She has a penchant for titillating tales featuring sexy men and strong women. When she's not writing, she's probably taking in a movie, reading, or traveling. Oh, and there is the distinct possibility she is out cowboy hunting.

  1. As hard as my husband thought he was, Dr.Zuma was able to soften his heart and make him comeback home. My husband of 4 years and I went for a 5 month marriage break because he was too abusive. He only make love to me when he is drunk. Almost at the end of the 5 month break, he started seeing new woman when we started reconnecting, he stopped caring for me or even seeing me after work. I almost lose him in the hands of the new woman. I emailed Dr Zuma to help me the way he has been helping others and thanks to him and he did a great work for me you can also email him via email(spiritualherbalisthealing@gmail.com)
