My Review: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have absolutely loved this series and I am upset it is over, but it had to end some time didn't it? It's a different take on the idea of a time traveler, which really helped to spark my attention. From the very first book, Lara has been a character I have been able to be empathetic towards, and understand where her motives are. As a mom, I found myself cringing that any 17 year old would have to bear so much responsibility on her shoulders. One of the good things, is the author happened to mention that in the book a few times, so it wasn't completely ignored. Donovan hasn't really changed much, though with his privileged status crumbling in front of him, he really dug deep and realized that his money and status don't mean much without love. The new character Cassidy was a good twist and we were able to experience the future society through her eyes.
From the beginning of the book, the author kept the reader engaged through enough action to pull the story line along, and enough description that a future society won't confuse us too much. It was easy to understand the characters motives. The story line wasn't so tangled that it was a hopeless mess to understand, which can happen in time travel stories, but neither was it so transparent that you could guess what the next plot twist would be.
If you're looking for a time travel series that sin't completely like every other time travel series, then you need to try this one out for size!
